1. Application Copyright

The Sol Mala application, including its source code, user interface design, graphical assets, and original written content, is the intellectual property of ADappvark. Your rights to install and use the App are set out in the Terms of Service; no other rights are granted.

2. Buddhist Textual Content

Sol Mala includes mantras, prayers, quotes, and teachings sourced from Buddhist texts that are in the public domain. These include, but are not limited to:

Pali Canon (Tipitaka)

Sutta Pitaka — discourses of the Buddha
Vinaya Pitaka — monastic rules and commentaries
Abhidhamma Pitaka — systematic philosophical treatises
Dhammapada — collected verses of the Buddha

Diamond Sutra (Vajracchedika Prajnaparamita)

These Buddhist texts, mantras, and teachings have been transmitted openly across cultures and centuries. They are part of the shared spiritual heritage of humanity and are not subject to copyright restrictions. No claim of ownership is made over any traditional Buddhist content.

3. Public Domain Statement

All Buddhist mantras, quotes, prayers, and textual content included in Sol Mala are sourced from works that are in the public domain by virtue of their age (composed centuries to millennia ago), their traditional nature (passed down as oral and written tradition), and their status as religious and spiritual texts freely shared across Buddhist communities worldwide.

Where English translations are used, they are either original translations prepared for this App, sourced from public domain translations, or used in accordance with applicable licences.

4. Third-Party Trademark Attributions

The following trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used in Sol Mala for descriptive and identification purposes only. Their use does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.

5. Bundled Typefaces

Sol Mala bundles two typefaces, each licensed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1, and each redistributed as published upstream — neither is a Modified Version under that licence:

Marcellus — Copyright 2012 Brian J. Bonislawsky DBA Astigmatic (AOETI), with Reserved Font Name “Marcellus”. Designed by Astigmatic (AOETI).

The SIL Open Font License requires that the copyright notice and the licence itself accompany the font wherever it is redistributed. The complete licence text and copyright notices are bundled inside the application at licenses/OFL-1.1.txt and are published at scripts.sil.org/OFL.

6. User-Generated Content

The only user-generated content in Sol Mala is the short personal dedications you may write in the dedication journal. These stay on your device (and in your own device backup, if enabled) and are never uploaded to us; if you use the share feature, you choose where a rendered card goes. You retain any rights in your dedications. All other content within the App is curated from public domain Buddhist sources or created by ADappvark.

7. DMCA and Copyright Concerns

While we believe all content in Sol Mala is in the public domain or properly licensed, if you believe that any content in the App infringes on your copyright, please contact us immediately at the address below. We take intellectual property rights seriously and will promptly address any legitimate concerns.
