Privacy Policy — ScreenRecSkr

Effective Date: March 2026 · Last updated: 7 August 2026

1. Overview

ScreenRecSkr ("the App") is published by MidMightBit Games, based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia. The App is a blockchain-verified screen recording tool for the Solana Seeker device.

ScreenRecSkr is built with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect personal data, we do not use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services, and we do not store your recordings in the cloud. All recordings and settings remain on your device. The only usage information we collect is fully anonymous, aggregate event counts that cannot identify you or your device — see Section 7a.

Critical Privacy Commitment: ScreenRecSkr does NOT upload, transmit, or share your screen recordings with anyone. All recordings are stored locally on your device. Only SHA-256 hashes (not the recordings themselves) are written to the blockchain.

2. Legal Basis for Data Processing

Under the EU GDPR and UK GDPR, the legal basis for processing your wallet public address is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)). Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the wallet public address is collected in accordance with APP 3 for on-chain identity verification.

3. How On-Chain Proofs Work

4. Data We Store Locally

Recordings (Local Only)

App Settings (Local Only)

Wallet Public Address (Optional)

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

6. Screen Recording Permission

ScreenRecSkr requires the MEDIA_PROJECTION permission to capture your screen. This permission is granted per-session via Android's system dialog. The App also uses RECORD_AUDIO for optional microphone capture and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION for recording in the background.

All captured content stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

7. Network Requests

All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.

7a. Anonymous Usage Analytics

To understand how many people use ScreenRecSkr and in which countries, the App sends anonymous, aggregate usage events (for example: the app was opened, a recording was started, a wallet was connected, terms were accepted, a payment was made). This helps us improve the App and report reach transparently.

What is sent: only the name of the event (e.g. app_open). Nothing else is included in the request body.

What is never sent or stored:

The backend stores only aggregate counts of the form (event type, country, region, city, date). Because this data is truly anonymous and cannot identify any individual, it is non-personal data under GDPR Recital 26 and equivalent provisions of the CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, APPI, PIPA, and the Australian Privacy Act, and does not require consent. These aggregate figures are published for transparency at screenrecskr-analytics.aardappvark.workers.dev/public-stats.

8. Data Storage and Security

9. No Accounts Created

ScreenRecSkr does not create user accounts. There is no registration or login system. Wallet connection is optional.

10. Third-Party Services

The App does NOT include any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, social media, or cloud storage SDKs. The anonymous usage analytics described in Section 7a run on our own first-party Cloudflare endpoint, not a third-party analytics provider, and store no personal data.

11. Data Retention

Data is retained locally until you delete recordings, clear App data, or uninstall. On-chain hashes are immutable and cannot be deleted.

12. Your Rights

Right to Delete

Delete all data by disconnecting your wallet, clearing App data, or uninstalling.

Right to Access

All data is visible within the App.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

13. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share personal information. You can delete all data by uninstalling the App.

14. Brazilian Residents (LGPD)

You may withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting your wallet.

15. Canadian Residents (PIPEDA)

The App processes only your wallet public address locally. Withdraw consent by disconnecting your wallet.

16. Children's Privacy

ScreenRecSkr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

European Union and EEA Users — GDPR

This section applies if you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, and explains how Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) applies to ScreenRecSkr.

Controller

MidMightBit Games, a sole trader established in Australia, is the data controller. Contact: aardappvark@proton.me. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer; we are not required to.

Representative in the Union (Article 27)

We have not designated a representative in the Union. We rely on the exemption in Article 27(2)(a): our processing of EU personal data is occasional, does not include large-scale processing of special categories of data under Article 9 or data relating to criminal convictions under Article 10, and is unlikely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons. You can contact us directly at aardappvark@proton.me about any GDPR matter, and we answer in English.

What we process, and on what legal basis

You can stop this processing at any time from the App's Settings screen, where the privacy section carries the control. Turning it off stops all event sending immediately.

Storage on and access to your device (ePrivacy, Article 5(3))

ScreenRecSkr stores settings on your device using Android's app-private storage. That storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, so it does not require separate consent. The App sets no cookies, uses no advertising identifier, no device fingerprinting and no third-party analytics SDK, and does not read information stored on your device for any purpose other than running the App.

Transfers outside the EEA

We are established in Australia, so where we receive anything it is processed in Australia. Australia is not the subject of an adequacy decision under Article 45. Our analytics endpoint is operated for us in the United States by our hosting provider. The transferred payload is a single event name and contains no identifier and no personal data, so in our assessment Chapter V is not engaged by it; to the extent it is, we rely on Article 46(2)(c) standard contractual clauses with our provider, or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where that provider is certified. Public Solana RPC providers you interact with may be located outside the EEA and receive your IP address and wallet public address as an unavoidable part of any internet request.

Retention

Data on your device is kept until you delete it, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App. Aggregate daily counters hold no personal data and are kept indefinitely as statistics. We operate no user accounts and hold no profile of you.

Your rights

You have the rights of access (Article 15), rectification (16), erasure (17), restriction (18), data portability (20) and objection (21), and the right to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis. Because your data lives on your device and we hold no identifier for you, you exercise most of these directly: the data is visible in the App, and clearing the App's data or uninstalling it erases it. For anything else, email aardappvark@proton.me — we respond within one month, free of charge.

There is no automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects, and no profiling within the meaning of Article 22.

Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your Member State of residence, place of work, or of the alleged infringement (Article 77). A list is published by the European Data Protection Board at edpb.europa.eu. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it first.
