Summary: Sol Price Widget collects no personal data — no accounts, no advertising, and no per-user tracking. The only thing that leaves your device for our own purposes is anonymous, aggregate usage counts (for example, that the app was opened), carrying no personal identifiers of any kind. Your ticker choices, cached prices, and everything else stay on your device — or, if you have Android Backup switched on, in your own encrypted Google backup (see Section 4).

The App does collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics that contain no personal identifiers and cannot be linked to you or your device. These are described in full in Section 7 and are, by design, anonymous data rather than personal data under GDPR Recital 26.

Android Backup. If Android Backup is enabled on your device, the App's settings and cached price data are included in your device's encrypted Google backup, survive uninstalling the App, and may be restored when you reinstall. The App stores no wallet keys, credentials or personal data of any kind. You can exclude the App from backup in Android Settings, or delete the backup from your Google account.
The App makes HTTPS requests directly from your device to the following third-party public APIs to retrieve cryptocurrency price data:
Important: We operate no intermediate server for price data — all price API requests are made directly from your device to the third-party providers listed above, and we have no access to those communications.
The App additionally sends anonymous usage events to our own first-party analytics endpoint, sol-price-widget-analytics.aardappvark.workers.dev (a Cloudflare Worker). This message contains only an event name and no personal data; our endpoint derives an approximate country from the connection but never logs or stores your IP address. Section 7 describes exactly what is collected and why it is anonymous data, not personal data.
As part of standard HTTPS/TLS communication, your device's IP address is necessarily transmitted to these third-party API providers. This is an inherent aspect of internet communication and is outside our control. We recommend you review the privacy practices of these providers:
The App does not require or support any form of account creation, user registration, login, authentication, or identity verification. There is no user account system.

The App does include one first-party, anonymous analytics ping so we can understand aggregate usage and improve the product. It is engineered to be non-identifying:

The App does not request or use any permissions related to location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, phone state, SMS, or any other sensitive Android permissions.
Sol Price Widget performs one automated decision: sanctions region screening at app startup using SIM card, network carrier, and device locale signals. If your device is detected in a sanctioned jurisdiction, the App displays a compliance screen restricting access. This decision is based on legitimate interest in regulatory compliance (GDPR Art. 22(2)(b)) and does not produce legal effects beyond restricting access to the App’s informational features. The App is not directed at children under the age of 16 (or 13 under COPPA in the United States). We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Since we collect no personal data from any user, no special provisions for children’s data are required. The App displays cryptocurrency market data and is intended for users aged 18 and over.
Since we collect and store no personal data, there are no international transfers of personal data by us. The direct API requests from your device to third-party providers (Section 5) may involve data transmission to servers located in various countries. These transmissions are initiated by your device and are governed by the respective privacy policies of those providers.
All network communications between your device and third-party APIs use HTTPS with TLS encryption. Since no personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted by us, data security risks are inherently minimised. Local data stored on your device is protected by Android's application sandboxing architecture.

We retain no personal data. Locally cached price data and preferences are retained on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the App; if Android Backup is enabled they also persist in your own Google backup until you delete it (Section 4). There is no server-side data retention.
The App respects Do Not Track (DNT) by design: it performs no cross-context behavioural tracking, no profiling, and no tracking of individuals, regardless of your DNT settings. The anonymous aggregate analytics described in Section 7 identify no individual and set no cross-site or cross-app identifier.
For the purposes of the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and its national implementations: Sol Price Widget stores configuration data on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This storage is strictly necessary for the functioning of the application (exempted from consent requirements under Art. 5(3)) and does not involve any tracking, profiling, advertising, or cookie-equivalent functionality. The App does not use cookies, web storage, or any browser-based tracking mechanisms.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. This does not affect your statutory rights under your local data protection laws, including GDPR (EEA/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), LGPD (Brazil), APPI (Japan), PIPA (South Korea), PDPA (Singapore), or other applicable regulations.
