3. How Geographic Screening Works

Sol Price Widget uses a multi-signal approach to determine the user’s geographic location. This screening occurs at app startup, when opening settings, before each background price refresh, and whenever the home-screen widget is rendered, and uses the following detection methods in priority order:

PriorityMethodData sourceReliability
1SIM card country codeTelephonyManager (SIM operator)Highest — physical SIM issued in a specific country
2Network carrier countryTelephonyManager (network operator)High — carrier-reported country code
3Device locale settingAndroid system localeModerate — user-configurable but indicative

3.1 Privacy-preserving design

3.2 What happens when a restricted region is detected

If any detection signal indicates the device is associated with a restricted jurisdiction:

  1. The App displays an informational compliance screen explaining that Sol Price Widget is not available in the detected region
  2. The screen identifies the detected region for transparency
  3. Access to the App’s features (price display, widget, settings) is fully restricted
  4. The back button is disabled to prevent bypass
  5. No personal data is collected, transmitted, or processed. The App sends one anonymous, aggregate counter (the event name geo_blocked and nothing else) so we can measure how many users are turned away; see the Privacy Policy

3.3 Limitations of geographic screening

We acknowledge that on-device geographic screening has inherent limitations:

These limitations do not relieve users of their obligation to comply with applicable laws in their actual jurisdiction (see Section 4).

4. User Representations and Warranties

By using Sol Price Widget, you represent and warrant that:

5. Consequences of Violation

6. Updates to Restricted Jurisdictions

7. No Legal Advice

This Policy is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. If you have questions about whether your use of Sol Price Widget may be subject to sanctions restrictions, consult qualified legal counsel in your jurisdiction.
