The Divine Quotes Sol application, including its source code, user interface design, icons, graphics, animations, and overall compilation, is the intellectual property of ADappvark, an Australian entity operating under the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
ADappvark grants the licence set out on our page over the application source code. The source repository is not currently published; the licence terms nonetheless govern any copy that is distributed.
The App contains 767 quotations from 107 named or traditional sources. Every quotation is drawn from an ancient scriptural or philosophical text that predates copyright, from an anonymous or traditional saying, or from a named author who died in 1948 or earlier. No quotations from living authors are included, and no modern interpretive work is quoted.

Every named author quoted in the App is deceased, and the most recent death year among them is 1948. No quotations from living authors are included. Under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) the term for a literary work is the author's life plus 70 years, so that term has expired for every named author quoted (1948 + 70 = 2018).
Where a quotation reaches us through a modern English translation of an ancient text, the copyright in that translation is a separate right from the copyright in the underlying text. The translations listed in section 2.1 are ones whose translators died before 1955. If you identify a quotation in the App that relies on a translation still in copyright, contact us and we will remove it — see section 6.
The original religious texts from which translations are derived (the Bible, the Quran, the Bhagavad Gita, the Dhammapada, the Torah, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Tao Te Ching, etc.) are ancient works that predate modern copyright law and are universally recognised as being in the public domain.

Divine Quotes Sol does not support user-generated content. Users cannot upload, submit, or publish any content through the App. Therefore, no user-generated content copyright considerations apply.
To the extent that any content in the App could be considered to fall outside the public domain, we assert that its use constitutes fair dealing under Section 40 of the Australian Copyright Act 1968, as the content is used for the purposes of research, study, criticism, review, and the reporting of information of public interest, specifically the dissemination of historical spiritual wisdom.
